Oxphur
Recording Artist
Oxphur is a Los Angeles based christian recording artist. Born and raised in central Indiana, Oxphur found a love for music at an early age by using a karaoke machine to record raps over instrumentals onto cassette tapes. Though he didn’t begin his professional music venture until mid 2021, Oxphur always felt the call to music upon his life. From being in Indiana recording with friends in his mothers garage, which they coined 'The Dungeon', to now being in Los Angeles recording at profession studios, Oxphur has transcended mountains of doubt and disbelieve by holding fast to his inward convictions.
“Music is a powerful tool that can be used to reach a multitude of people. The heart posture behind everything I make is, ‘present the gospel in such a manner that it speaks to where people may be at in a given season of life.’ Considering God in everything is key.” — Oxphur
Oxphur’s debut single, Save Yourself, caught the ear of hip hop veteran, J. Monty, who selflessly became the first artist to collaborate with Oxphur. J. Monty’s presence on Save Yourself allowed for Oxphur to instantly reach a pool of people and thus jumpstarting his career as a recording artist.
Since then, Oxphur has released two EP’s, the first being Nothing’s for Nothing, which released November 26, 2021 and has reached nearly 1M total streams thus far, and the second being Nothing’s What It Seems (the sequel to Nothing’s for Nothing) which released November 25, 2022 and features tracks such as Lift Me Up, Dracula and Blessings (Lift the Youth). Oxphur's debut album, 'Nothing's The Same', is set to release November 29, 2024 and is the conclusion of the 'Nothing' Trilogy.
Oxphur is currently serving at a local church in Los Angeles leading worship.
